I’m a professional geek from the deep south but now living in Philadelphia. I enjoy technology to an obscene degree and would often prefer to spend time with my pets and computers than with other people. I have many traits normally associated with people with Asperger syndrome but I have never been formally diagnosed since it would be, for me, one diagnosis too many. One nice thing about modern life is that if you talk to me on Facebook or Twitter those traits are almost completely masked.
I cook, I read constantly, and I spend way too much time getting distracted researching new things that I encounter almost daily.
On a more personal level, I live my partner, Brian as well as Victoria and Mpeg, our cats, and Aiko, our dog. Brian and I have been together for about ten years. We met on IRC more like eighteen years ago, but it took us about eight years to get around to meeting in person. In September of 2001 we traveled with friends to Warren, Vermont and had our civil union despite the fact that no state we have lived in recognize it.
My interests are very varied from technology to politics to economics and how they all fit together.
I can be found on Twitter at @techfun and on Facebook.
