Jaffer Maniar
My name is Jaffer and I live in Hamilton, Ontario (also known as “Steeltown”, “the Hammer” and “the Lunchbucket”) . I was born in India and I identify myself as Indian but I was raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – a beautiful city on the shores of the Red Sea. I am a mechanical engineering technologist by training but I am currently working on a slight career move – although I am still not sure where I want to end up !
I’ve been interested in photography since the time I was in secondary school – when I took over my dad’s dusting old SLR camera. Over the years, instead of moving up, I ditched the SLR for an autofocus Minolta – and later I ditched that for a cellphone. Now I am saving for a new DSLR. I’ve thought of taking part in “a picture a day” project before (well, twice actually), and I’d like to thank JD for setting-up this project and inviting me here.
I spend my days studying and doing a lot of reading. I read everything – from blogs, news, fiction, non-fiction, journals and papers to books on faith and religion. I am a total foodie and I’m always finding myself trying out new things and I cook too. I love to socialise and meet new people and you can find me on all popular social networks and particularly the ones I’ve listed below. I’d love to hear from you too !
Cheers !
