I don’t like to complain on here, but some things just deserve it. I hate, I despise, when people are too lazy to return their shopping carts to the proper place. Normally that would be a cart return, but sometimes that may mean walking it back up to the side walk next to the store. In this photo, the carts are no more than 15 steps away from the front of the store. Yet, a large collection of people decided to park their carts in a jumbled mess that looks more like a 10 car pileup than a cart return because they were too lazy to take an extra 15 steps in either direction.
You may be able to understand my rage if you’ve seen carts rolling down hills and ramming into unsuspecting peoples cars while the responsible parties drive away. I can’t understand what is wrong with people.
And, yes, I did return my cart to the store.

Yea that is idiotic. People should understand that a) this is utterly selfish and that your cart could hit a car or a person, b) stores would have to hire more people to gather carts which increases costs. We have shopping carts where you have to stick in a loonie ($1) to operate it, and when you return it to a return station you get it back. That stops a lot of crap like this because people’s attachment to their $1 trumps their laziness.
We had those here for a while and it took a quarter (25 cents) but they seem to have vanished. While they were around many stores has a courtesy quarter sized dongle sort of thing you could keep on your keychain for use when you had no quarters.
People in Medford where I work are horrible about this. I will have to grab photos of the many creative ways people at the Acme stash their carts.
