In the future I hope to do some teaching of my own and I think it will be really interesting to look back and see what I wrote when asked these questions.

Frapto 122 – Drip drip drip

Early on in 2009, when the mum still had her leg, update for those that don’t know about mum Operation Lopitoff and she was at home but on IV antibiotics and a vacu pump thing to try and heal the leg.

Well that didn’t work and we were left with bags of saline and other stuff like bandages that were no longer needed, now that the leg had gone. I had presumed that the district nurse team would take it away and someone else would use it. I was wrong, I hadn’t noticed that each bag of saline had the mums name on and therefore could not be used by anyone else! So the only alternative is to hand it into the pharmacy so it could be destroyed or I could use it as a handy ready made neti pot solution?

I would never use something in a frivolous manner, but even checking online to see about donating unused medication, it seems that they wouldn’t want these.

Shipped the parents off to Hamburg yesterday, they are driving across, with the ferry in-between, so taking their time to get there. Bodge the builder is still driving me insane next door, so decided to listen to very very loud music, in the form of Prodigy and clean all the carpets. I know, how rock and roll am I? heh

I needed a breath of fresh air, as I had inhaled far too much cleaning products, so grabbed the camera and hunted round the garden for signs of Spring. It of course decided to start raining, so only had chance to snap a few lazy pics. This crap macro was the best of the few.

She has no name at the moment, but is 7lb and 8oz.

Frapto 116 – Improvise

Not doodled anything for ages, so finally decided to crack open the sharpies once more for a blog post. I hadn’t used water soluble pencils for doodling before, so I had to improvise on materials, as I needed to use thicker paper than usual and didn’t have a paint brush so just used a make up brush instead hehe.

Frapto 115 – Stella

Another power cut struck in the wee hours of the morning, if I was a normal sleeper, I would have probably slept through it, but of course I was on the computer. At first I thought it was just our house, like last week, but on venturing outside I saw that it was indeed the whole street.

No idea what caused it, the power company hasn’t been in touch with us or anyone that it affected, hopefully this is not going to be a regular occurrence! I would have just gone to bed, but our power fuse box thingy has to be flicked back on manually and I didn’t want to wake up to a defrosted freezer. So I sat on the stairs and commented on facebook, hooray for mobile internet.

Finally about 6am I went to bed, so today I have been walking through murky brain fog and decided it was beer o’clock.

On Frapto 108 it shows were the idiots dug up the pavement and dug through the powerlines, trapping the mumborg inside. Finally they decided to put a board down that fit across half of the gap, the mum tried to cross that, but got stuck in the mud! Luckily as I was shouting curse words and banging head against wall, a chap happened to walk past, saw the mum stuck and went down the road a wee bit, liberated another of the boards and placed it down so mum could safely cross the road! What a gentleman! This was while the idiot roadwork dudes sat in their vans eating their lunch and we are still waiting for that apology, twats.

I am normally a very chilled out person, but the power fail and continued lack of pavements has unleashed my potty mouth, well at least made it tens times worse, heh. It is the total lack of consideration for anyone in a wheelchair that pisses me off, the snow was bad enough, but at least that was mother nature, this is a man made problem. They better bloody tarmac the area tomorrow and get it finished.

The photo is one bit of my mad hair when I let it do its natural thing, it matches my wild mood at the moment lol

Today was blah kind of day! Had to get up at stupid o clock early to clean the house, as I couldn’t do anything yesterday because of effin power fail. Manic cleaning was needed as the mum was having a home visit from the physical therapy team. I thought they were going to check every room to see how it is suited to the mum, but they didn’t, just chatted to the mum. I could have stayed in bed for longer after all! Grrrr.

Then naughty workmen were meant to come around and apologise for leaving us literally in the dark. Did they bother, did they fuck.

No baby still!

Frapto 108 – power FAIL

This week they decided to dig up the pavements outside my house, which we were not informed about, that was bad enough, but then they decided to dig through the power cables and leave us without electricity for 8 sodding hours. We were the only house affected, so they decided that they didn’t need to hurry up and fix up. This was even with the knowledge that mum is in an electric wheelchair, has an electric bed and medication in the fridge, morons. Eventually the power company turned up and fixed it. Thank fuck for tea light candles, scented candles and a gas cooker so that I could boil water for much needed cups of tea!

No sign baby today – So I have bet on the 21st at 7pm

Blurgh started snowing again today, but I decided to head outside with the camera and brave the harsh conditions (slightly exaggerating,lol). Finally took the camera up to the local churchyard, which is literally 5 minutes walk away, something I have been meaning to do since I started blogging! Whoops. Ah well I got there in the end. I will definitely be going back, hopefully my mum can use her influence and get me access into the bell tower! That is one good thing about having a church going mum (hehe). The church has some beautiful stained glass windows, which you can only see from the inside, as they have had to put up protective guards on the outside (ruddy vandals).

This gravestone captured my interest the most, there are some other interesting ones too which I will no doubt photograph as well, only got a few this time.

This is a heart pendant made from murano glass, which I got off the folks for Christmas. It is a pain in the arse to photograph, because you just can’t seem to do the glass justice.

Posting this made me realise that I still haven’t posted a recipe for Frapto 76! I am bloody awful at writing recipes, because I basically make things up as I go along, which is not good for recipe writing. Will try and come up with something for frapto 76 soon!

Roasted Tomato/Pepper soup.

Anyhoo roasted some tomatoes, garlic and pepper (till pepper goes a bit charred), then let cool for about ten minutes, peeled off the skins (which is fiddly!), added some veg stock, added some cream, blitzed with a blender and voila! Cream of roasted tomato/pepper soup.

Oh whack some chilli in to unfreeze your delicates on these cold and dark days!

Frapto 87 – Bottle of Memories

This old whisky bottle contains three layers of coloured salt, between each layer is a message to myself. The messages are something that I forgive myself for. It was an exercise that we did in class for my counselling diploma. First we are given a a pile of salt, then different coloured chalks. You separate the salt into piles, then colour it by just rubbing the chalk into the salt, once you have your coloured salt piles ready, with accompanying messages, you then funnel the salt into the bottle. So to anyone else it just looks like layered coloured sand, not many people know that there is anything actually in there. One day I am going to chuck it into the sea, well maybe just pour out the salt and messages, then recycle the bottle

Well the Tulip has finally popped its clogs and is heading to the compost (via Frapto 81). It is always bloody hard to find something interesting to photograph the day after you have taken an epic amount of photographs (hooray for tulips).

Frapto 85- New Brighton Lighthouse

This is New Brighton Lighthouse, built in 1827, more historical information found here . Right by the Lighthouse is the ideal location to spot Purple Sandpipers, which we did, but everytime I tried the photograph one, the buggers flew off. It was lucky to see them actually, as they are an ‘Amber Status’ bird – More about Amber status – here.

Off out birdwatching with the dad tomorrow, last week Frapto 78, we decided to try and make it a weekly thing. That way I get more outside practice with the camera and the legs get stretched, whilst the dad gets to tick off some birds on his year birding list.

I need some new hiking boots, these are steel toed worker boots, that my bro in law liberated from his work for me, they are good for general stomping around, but not for hiking.

Frapto 81 – Feed me!

I had to stop myself from posting more flower pictures, as I fear that they will start to bore you rigid! So I decided to snap the contents of the kitchen caddy, in which I dump all the kitchen compostable stuff into. Outside is a large tumble composter that turns the stuff into compost throughout the year. It helps the garden and it helps the kitchen bin not stink.

But I did take some more flower shots today anyways… here, here and here if I post the links, then I cant cheat and use the photos in the future! Which is tempting to do, on those blank mind days.

I have adapted the recipe over the years and it is now a Bombay Potato – Saag Aloo Hybrid thingy. I could almost become a vego if I ate vego food like this all the time.

This is one of the Fu Dogs I have guarding my ‘meditation’ area, not that I actually know how to meditate. My mind races far ahead of my body and sometimes I yearn for an empty mind, so I light my candles and incense, chill out for about ten seconds, before my mind races off again. Even if I don’t actually chill out, I still think the Fu dogs look cool and maybe one day I will be able to master the fine art of chillaxation.

Frapto 73 – Box of stuff/Box of nothing

Today I received a lovely present from a great blogging friend of mine, 100 laugh notes, they are post it notes with humorous quotes to cheer yourself up. I will no doubt be photographing one of them at some point. The mum also got a gift too, in the form of a lovely little angel thing, it seems that people have grown attached to the mum, as I have written quite a bit about her on my blog. I thought it was lovely that my blog friend went to the trouble and it certainly brightened my day.

The thing that caught my attention the most though, was the box the gifts arrived in. I must be in touch with my inner toddler, as the box just grabbed my attention.

The last presentation we had to do in class for my counselling diploma, was a personal philosophy in relation to counselling/therapy, which you can see here if you like Personal Philosophy
The second to last slide contains this quote:

Frapto 71 – Mini Church

Got this out of the loft to display for Christmas time and attempted to photograph it with my point and shoot back on Fraoto 49, but couldn’t really do it justice, so settled for a close up back then.

Now that I have a better camera, it was only slightly easier to fit it all in and do it any justice at all.

My Grandad was mad on trains, steam trains in particular and built model railways and all the miniature buildings that went with it. He made some truly impressive things and this was one of the buildings that went with a huge set up. He made everything from scratch, including the trees and little tiny stained glass windows.

People have been panic buying in the shops, one would think that people would realise that it is just snow and not armagaeddon. Because of this lunacy I have avoided the shops like the plague making do with what is left in the cupboards, fridge and freezer for now!

Still bloody freezing in the UK, it is a national past time to moan about the weather, so hopefully I wont bore everyone too much with these weather updates?

Anyhoo, love the ice and snow on leaves, so messed around taking a few more shots in the garden, whilst the sun was out.

Frapto 68 – Snow Collection

Ventured out into the frozen wastelands, otherwise known as the ‘garden’, it is funny how snow makes everything look nice. No more snowfalls at the moment, but what was there shows no signs of melting, it is going to be freezing again tonight, with more snow heading this way soon.

Frapto 67 – Dumplings

As we edge into the coldest winter for 100 years in the UK (apparently), I thought I better pack on some pounds to further insulate myself. I decided to go for dumplings in a lovely beef stew, that is definitely a good winter dish. I used some frozen stew, leftover from when I made a mammoth load back on Frapto 44. Made a fresh load of dumplings, as I am not sure how well they freeze, they turned out much better this time, less like mini canon balls.
