Dim Sum

I had dim sum with my grandma this afternoon.  It was easily the best part of my day.

I had taken her to the eye doctor in the morning for a checkup after her glaucoma surgery, thankfully it was all good news.  I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with her, then headed to the subway at 1:30 pm.  Unfortunately the Yonge Line was not in service between Eglinton and Bloor stations because a 3rd party contractor accidentally dug into the subway tunnel.  Apparently they didn’t realize the subway ran under that particular street, and were quite surprised when they looked down into the hole and saw tracks (click here for the full story).  Anyhow, I didn’t get into my office until 3:50 pm (after a slow, cramped bus ride over to the Spadina Line).  That’s 2 hours and 20 minutes for what normally is a 40 minute trip.

At least I had got a lot of studying done (see my subsequent post).

  1. I’m glad to hear that all the news regarding your grandmother was good news. Too bad about the contractor mishap. It is terribly frustrating to be heading into work and find yourself delayed by something worse than work itself.

I like your long, descriptive posts to go along with your pictures. I tend to spit out a tiny blurb and hit publish, but I do enjoy reading the stories that go along with the photos.

Mmmm… I love Dim Sum, but since I’m a vegetarian, there is only one place where I know that I can get some good vegetarian Dim Sum – Kingdom of Vegetarians in Chinatown Philadelphia. This place is amazing. JD, Brian, Heather, and I tend to meet there pretty often, and we’re just about due!
