Longer days, warmer weather, and sunny blue skies have gotten me into baseball mood.  I went to get a new glove (first one in years) and now I’m busy breaking  it in.  I’m finally ready for spring training and another summer of softball!

This is a box of preserved duck eggs (also known as “century eggs” or “100 year old eggs”) that we keep in our kitchen. It is an ingredient in many Chinese dishes, including some congees. Some people love it but I find the taste disgusting.

I love stores where just by walking in you can feel your lungs fill up with a fine coat of chocolate. The Old Firehall Confectionery is located on Main Street in Unionville, a community just north of Toronto. They sell ice cream, fudge, beautifully decorated cupcakes, fudge, candied apples, and of course, chocolate!
