Very few of my friends know how to cook. Most people I know seems to eat mostly processed/prepackaged foods or take out. Yet, I am a picky person. Not only is that food not good for you but it’s always over salted and not appetizing to me. For example, I won’t even use Manwich and insist on making Sloppy Joes from scratch.
For years, I coveted KitchenAid Mixers. I’ve never in my life had a real mixer. Even growing up, everything was done by hand but yet I knew there was something special in these mixers. I love fashion, decorating, accessories, and all that comes with it so when KitchenAid began making them in a rainbow of colors, I knew I MUST GET ONE. It felt like a milestone in my life when I got my own mixer. I even got to pick the color.
I giggle now because after moving into our new house in June, I realized that I had painted my kitchen walls to match. As well as my first pair of Doc Martin stompy boots as a teenager were the same shade of purple. I guess I am predictable in that way.
I don’t know how I ever baked without my Grape KitchenAid. I also like to name inanimate objects. Since I am a history geek too, I named her Molly Mixer in honor of Molly Pitcher.
