Light and Art
This is the chandelier that hangs in my parents’ foyer. I love the delicate ceramic cups meant to be wax catchers for real candles and the lovely brass scrollwork.
I’ve laid claim to this and my mother put my name on a purple post it under the part that attaches to the ceiling so my sibs can’t bicker with me over it.
My mother said to me, “The day you get this chandelier, will be the saddest day of your life.” Whoa. Now I kind of DON’T want it, if you catch my drift. :/
Starline Over Pine Trees
The trick to night photography is a decent tripod and shutter speed. There is a street light up the road, but otherwise no man-made lighting was used in capturing this scene. At 100 ISO I used the bulb setting and exposure at about 3-5 minutes, but the rotation of the earth caused the stars to make small streaks in the sky. So I settled for 400 ISO and about a 45 second exposure time.
