Diversification
The economy has hit small businesses hard. Some small shops in Chinatown, like “Golden Home Houseware”, had to diversify into selling illegal DVDs. It’s funny how the left part of the store (the side you see) is filled with DVDs, while the right side actually sells woks and pots and pans.
“No, it is… well… it’s Pile Shaped.”
This is, I believe, the results of a well intentioned home improvement project that jumped the rails. The pile of lumber is in the driveway of the home beside my office. It has been like that for a good several months now. The post title is because the pile of lumber reminded me of an episode
Cars That Shouldn’t Run
This car is not really that bad, but I am not sure I will find a better one to use. I have to say that that really makes me happy, maybe the inspection thing does work.
At MoMA
I couldn’t resist sharing at least one Burton item on Frapto. They are all on Flickr but here’s me reflected with a prop from ‘Edward Scissorhands’ that was set up in the garden at MoMA, NYC.
Divinity
One of the moms at school was late and as a thank you she gave me this delicious box of fancy Belgian chocolates. Small pieces of heaven.
Photographer Spotting
I love seeing other photographers at work.
Today, we went up to the Museum Modern Art and finally saw the Tim Burton exhibit. Brilliance! I have always felt a kinship with his work. It’s like his work is filled with the beautiful side of darkness and yet whimsical with a dash of humor. [...]
New Glove!
Longer days, warmer weather, and sunny blue skies have gotten me into baseball mood. I went to get a new glove (first one in years) and now I’m busy breaking it in. I’m finally ready for spring training and another summer of softball!
Frapto 130 – Crafty Heart
Finally received wedding invite for the sisters wedding, she made all of them herself (well with help from some of her friends), they even cut out all these fabric hearts. I could maybe have the patience to do one or two, but over 50? no bloody way.

My definition of ‘Oldest’
I actually looked at my oldest shoes and they look like my newest. They are at least 8-10 years old and are very dressy and are worn LESS than once a year. So I decided to base my definition of oldest on most hours of wear. This pair wins by hundreds of hours.
Turning 16
I really find it hard to believe that I have a 16 year old child. The time really does fly by.
Botanicus
Started snowing again and the lights in the Botanical Garden were on. Snap snap snap.
Mirror by the Door
We have an opulent-looking mirror hanging on our wall just beside our front door, just across from the door bell. Of course, we would never buy such a rediculous looking thing, but a family friend was moving to another city “for a while” and we agreed to “temporarily” hold some of her stuff until she [...]
Frapto 129 – A hint

Shoots of Spring
Springs thinks it is here. These are coming up through the pine needles beside the garage behind my office.
