A day late and a dollar short
So yes, I’m late to the theme week, starting today instead of yesterday. But here I am, and here’s my kid’s hands as she plays with the ever-present Nintendo DSi, killing time while waiting for the subway this morning. I’ve since been finding myself spotting interesting bits of red to consider photographing here and there.
Unnoticed unfurling
Shame on me, beauty is happening right in front of my face and I miss taking a moment to enjoy it. Thanks to the person who suggested red, for I wouldn’t have taken the time to really look at this. A flowering plant given to me by a student teacher, I don’t know what it [...]
95
Due to a sick kid, I had to leave the house today. I was happy to leave but wish it could have been for something different. One thing I realized is that there is a lot of red out there. I try my best to stay off 95 unless I am going to visit family [...]
My Bags are Packed…
Today mom was scheduled to go home to Florida via Amtrak so after checking the status of her train online and seeing that everything was fine she hopped in a cab. Upon arrival at the station she discovered that you cannot trust the Internet. She was ready to come back here but huge snowfall coming tomorrow night she could be stranded a lot longer….
The Red Hawk
This beautiful Cooper’s Hawk came to the yard today. I was lucky enough to see it, as I worked from home to avoid the slushy commute this morning. Although I actually got a fairly crisp shot of this guy, I decided to distort him with a bit of red to meet the theme. [...]
Cobblestain
I took this photo at the tram stop using the fabulous color swap feature on my camera, which I just learned how to properly use today. The cobblestones are normally the color of slate, so this is quite spicy for them.
All the way from down south
I bought this little figurine on a whim at a craft store in Santiago, Chile. Made entirely out of horse hair, she is very light, which is good since she has been traveling all over my room trying to find a place to stay.
Upon looking at the photo once again, I noticed that I sneaked [...]
Borrowed Shoes
These are my brother’s shoes. I only borrowed them to take their picture – but I didn’t touch them. I left them undisturbed in the shoe rack and played around for a few minutes trying to get the right angle.
It is badly shot, no doubt but painting in grey bring out so many details I [...]
Super Bowl? What Super Bowl?
As per tradition these past few years, we had a Super Bowl Sunday dinner at Peter Luger, a highly regarded steak restaurant that’s been in business for over one hundred years. I’m not usually one of those “OMG meat rawr” types of people, but you kind of can’t help but crave [...]
Frapto 99 – Phone Home
I was a bit stumped today, as I have been feeling a little homicidal towards our next door neighbours who have been doing building work nearly every day for months and months now! So the only red thing I could think of was not very pleasant!
Then I spotted this money box on top of my [...]
Sparkly Icicles
I caught a glimpse of these icicles on our back gutters, sparkling in the sun. I felt I had to capture the magic.
Red, Read, and Dead
I almost took a picture of this ten days ago when J. D. Salinger died. Glad I waited since Red ended up as the first theme.
Red Light District
A brief overview of the disgusting flesh trade in women here in Prague.

This has an almost psychedelic look to it. The dark colors are mystifying and surreal. Great capture.
